Classic Delight Sandwiches Recalled Due to Listeria Concerns

Classic Delight LLC has issued a recall for a range of individually-wrapped sandwiches due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

Although no illnesses have been reported, the FDA warns that Listeria infections can cause serious and sometimes fatal foodborne illness.

The recalled sandwiches, sold under the brand names Classic Delight, Nutrisystem, and Wakefield, were available in vending machines, convenience stores, and through food service distributors. These products were produced between May 11, 2023, and June 6, 2024, and distributed to locations in Arkansas, California, Maryland, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas.

The company has halted production of these sandwiches while they investigate the contamination source. The recall was prompted after FDA tests detected Listeria in environmental samples at the production facility.
